My practice grows out of first-hand research into the urban environment while travelling.
I look for and document the visual code particular to each place — from capital megacities to small towns.
What I record are the states and moods of nocturnal space.

About
Daria Sharenkova was born and raised in the Donetsk region. In 2019 she entered the painting department of the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute, graduating in 2025 with a diploma series on Korea and China.
She works in tempera on paper and oil on canvas, and makes a second version of each work in levkas, the icon-painting gesso technique: the ground gives a dense texture and the pigments make the colour more painterly.
